Game day, and the rest of the week

If there is one piece of Illinois Fighting Illini clothing a kid will actually wear, it is usually the jersey. It works for games, for school and for the days in between. It also takes a wash without any fuss, which parents tend to notice over a full season.

How it is made

The Illinois Fighting Illini jersey here keeps a low profile in the hand as well as on the body. Pick it up and the weight is the mesh, not the design. That is the trade a pressed finish makes, and it suits anyone who wants the colors without the extra bulk.

Washing and everyday wear

Turn it inside out, wash it cold with the rest of the laundry, and hang it to dry — nothing special needed. Keep the iron away from the pressed graphics, and fold it like any other shirt between games. The Illinois Fighting Illini jersey asks for no looking after beyond that.

Questions buyers ask

• How is the design applied to this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey?

The numerals and letters on this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey are heat-pressed onto the Orange fabric, so the surface stays smooth with no raised edge. It is a lighter garment for it, and the color reads evenly across the whole design.

• Can this Illinois Fighting Illini Football jersey go in the dryer?

Low heat is fine, but this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey dries fast on a hanger after a cold, inside-out wash, so the dryer is optional. Keep the iron away from the pressed graphics — that is the one part of the Orange finish that asks for care.

• How does the Orange Illinois Fighting Illini jersey fit compared with a T-shirt?

This Illinois Fighting Illini jersey is cut a little closer than a casual T-shirt through the chest and shoulders, in the youth size range, while the Orange body leaves room to layer. Most buyers take their usual size; a looser game-day drape means one size up.

• Does this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey come with a player name on the back?

This Illinois Fighting Illini jersey keeps the back plain, so no player name appears on it. The pressed team graphics and the Orange finish carry the look, which keeps it wearable as rosters change from one season to the next.
