Game day, and the rest of the week

A kid gets more use out of the Illinois Fighting Illini jersey than almost anything else in the closet. It goes to the game, to a friend's house and to the school week in between. Buying one that holds up is cheaper than replacing a cheap one twice.

How it is made

Light, flat, and easy to fold: that is what the finish does for the Illinois Fighting Illini jersey. It takes up the space of a T-shirt in a drawer and needs no special handling when it goes in the wash. Not every piece of fan clothing should require care.

Washing and everyday wear

Turn it inside out, wash it cold with the rest of the laundry, and hang it to dry — nothing special needed. Keep the iron away from the pressed graphics, and fold it like any other shirt between games. The Illinois Fighting Illini jersey asks for no looking after beyond that.

Questions buyers ask

• Is the design on this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey printed or printed?

The Illinois Fighting Illini graphics are pressed flat onto the fabric, which keeps the surface smooth and the jersey light in the hand. The color reads evenly across the numerals and letters, and the clean finish layers comfortably under a jacket or hoodie.

• How should I wash this Illinois Fighting Illini Basketball jersey?

Machine wash this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey cold and inside out, then hang it to dry, and the White stays even through weekly laundry. Avoid ironing directly over the pressed graphics and skip the high-heat dryer. Treated that way, the surface stays smooth wash after wash.

• Does this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey fit true to size?

The Illinois Fighting Illini youth cut runs true to size with room for a T-shirt underneath. Buyers who want a looser game-day fit, or who plan to layer it in cold weather, usually go one size up. The shoulders sit close and the hem falls at hip level.

• Whose name is on the back of this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey?

Nobody's — the back of this Illinois Fighting Illini jersey stays plain in the White colorway, with the pressed team graphics on the front carrying the look. That makes it a safe pick for fans who do not want a name that leaves when rosters turn over.
