Game day, and the rest of the week

Kids pass Virginia Cavaliers jerseys around a household more than almost any other item of clothing. One goes from child to child, from one game day to the next and from one season to the following one. Buying the version that holds up is cheaper than replacing it in the long run.

How it is made

The Virginia Cavaliers numerals and letters here are set into the surface rather than raised above it, which keeps the jersey looking tidy under a jacket. Nothing catches when it goes on or comes off. It is a finish chosen for how it wears rather than how it photographs.

Washing and everyday wear

Turn it inside out, wash it cold with the rest of the laundry, and hang it to dry — nothing special needed. Keep the iron away from the pressed graphics, and fold it like any other shirt between games. The Virginia Cavaliers jersey asks for no looking after beyond that.

Questions buyers ask

• Does the print on this Virginia Cavaliers jersey feel raised?

The Virginia Cavaliers graphics sit flat against the White fabric — pressed rather than sewn — so the surface stays smooth and the jersey stays light. The color reads evenly, and the finish layers comfortably under a jacket.

• Can this Virginia Cavaliers Football jersey go in the dryer?

Low heat is fine, but this Virginia Cavaliers jersey dries fast on a hanger after a cold, inside-out wash, so the dryer is optional. Keep the iron away from the pressed graphics — that is the one part of the White finish that asks for care.

• Does this Virginia Cavaliers jersey fit true to size?

The Virginia Cavaliers youth cut runs true to size with room for a T-shirt underneath. Buyers who want a looser game-day fit, or who plan to layer it in cold weather, usually go one size up. The shoulders sit close and the hem falls at hip level.

• Whose name is on the back of this Virginia Cavaliers jersey?

Nobody's — the back of this Virginia Cavaliers jersey stays plain in the White colorway, with the pressed team graphics on the front carrying the look. That makes it a safe pick for fans who do not want a name that leaves when rosters turn over.
